New Dôr AI Platform Connects Store Traffic, Sales and Staffing

AIAI Holdings is bringing artificial intelligence deeper into physical retail with the commercial launch of Dôr Retail Intelligence, a platform designed to connect customer traffic with sales and operational data to explain business performance and recommend actions.

The platform was launched through AIAI portfolio company Constellation Network and combines physical customer counting with point-of-sale, e-commerce, labor, marketing, weather and other operational information.

Dôr’s underlying traffic-counting technology is already deployed in more than 2,000 retail stores, according to the company.

Turning Foot Traffic Into Business Intelligence

Counting how many people enter a store has been possible for years.

Dôr is attempting to make that information more useful by connecting traffic with the other variables influencing store performance.

Its wireless sensor measures customer entries before the platform combines that information with sources including point-of-sale systems, e-commerce platforms, historical files, product data, staffing, reservations, events, weather and marketing.

AIAI’s Transformational AI technology then analyzes the combined information to identify changes, relationships and missed opportunities before presenting findings and recommended actions in plain language.

Finding The Sales That Never Happened

One of the more interesting possibilities is identifying missed demand.

Sales figures tell retailers what customers purchased. Traffic information can provide another piece of the picture by showing how many potential customers entered a location.

Combining the two creates a clearer view of conversion.

If traffic increases but sales remain flat, operators can investigate staffing, product availability, merchandising, pricing or other factors that could explain the gap.

Dôr says its platform can surface metrics around conversion, customer opportunity, demand, product momentum, staffing alignment and marketing attribution across individual stores or hundreds of locations.

More Than $5 Billion In Sales Data

The platform builds on more than a decade of operational experience and has analyzed more than $5 billion in sales data across different commercial environments, according to AIAI.

Current deployments include restaurants, national retailers and cultural institutions.

Dôr can also deliver information through its own dashboards and APIs or existing business intelligence platforms including Microsoft Power BI.

That integration approach could matter for larger enterprises that already have established analytics environments and do not want another isolated dashboard.

AIAI Continues Its Applied AI Strategy

The launch also fits AIAI Holdings’ broader strategy of applying its Transformational AI technology across businesses in its portfolio.

Rather than developing a single horizontal AI product, the company is attempting to embed the technology into operating businesses where industry-specific data can be used to improve performance.

Dôr provides a relatively straightforward example of that strategy.

The AI is being connected directly to measurable business variables such as traffic, revenue, staffing and marketing performance.

The Bottom Line

Dôr Retail Intelligence tackles a familiar retail problem: businesses collect enormous amounts of information but often struggle to connect the pieces quickly enough to make better operational decisions.

Combining physical traffic with sales, staffing, marketing and other data gives AI more context for explaining why performance changes.

The real test will be whether those recommendations consistently translate into better conversion and operating results. If they do, Dôr could demonstrate a practical model for AI that moves beyond dashboards and becomes part of day-to-day decision-making across physical businesses.
