SailPoint introduced a unified identity security solution designed to protect and govern human users, non-human identities and AI agents from a single control model.
The announcement combines SailPoint Agentic Fabric, now generally available, with SailPoint Human Fabric, the evolution of Identity Security Cloud. SailPoint said the goal is to move identity governance from scheduled compliance cycles into a continuous, real-time security loop.
Identity Risk Moves Beyond Employees
Enterprise identity programs have traditionally centered on workforce access. That is no longer enough as service accounts, automation, machine credentials and AI agents proliferate across cloud and application environments.
SailPoint cited research saying 97 percent of AI agents have access to sensitive data, while only 21 percent of organizations are highly confident in their ability to manage AI agent security risks. That gap is becoming a practical security issue as organizations deploy more automated workflows.
Agentic Fabric Adds Control Points
SailPoint Agentic Fabric is intended to discover, govern and protect automated enterprise environments. The company said it uses endpoint and browser sensors to expose hidden AI agents, credentials and Model Context Protocol servers that traditional tools may miss.
The platform also includes inline prompt security to redact sensitive personally identifiable information before it reaches large language models, a centralized kill switch for rogue agents and automated ownership rules to assign human accountability for machine accounts.
Zero Standing Privilege Gets More Important
SailPoint Human Fabric focuses on workforce identity governance, including discovery of privilege creep, real-time identity context for security operations workflows and just-in-time administrative access.
That zero-standing-privilege model matters because identity has become one of the easiest paths from ordinary access to enterprise compromise. The more AI agents and machine identities participate in business workflows, the more important lifecycle control becomes.

SailPoint is framing identity security as a converged problem across employees, machines and AI agents. For enterprise security teams, the useful test will be whether unified governance can reduce hidden privilege and agent sprawl without slowing the business processes those agents are meant to automate.
