Wipro expanded its partnership with Databricks and created a dedicated Databricks business practice to help enterprises modernize data foundations and deploy AI at production scale.
The companies said the enhanced partnership is intended to move clients from fragmented data environments and isolated AI pilots toward governed, enterprise-scale AI implementations. Wipro said the new practice will build industry solutions and accelerators using Databricks capabilities and Wipro‘s AI platforms.
Data Modernization Remains The AI Bottleneck
Many enterprise AI projects still stall because the underlying data environment is not ready for production use. Data may be split across legacy systems, poorly governed, difficult to access or separated from the analytics and application development tools needed to turn models into useful workflows.
Wipro and Databricks are targeting that gap. The companies said the practice will combine Databricks capabilities for agentic AI, data modernization, application development and analytics with Wipro Intelligence, Wipro‘s suite of AI-powered platforms and services.
The work also includes Wipro‘s WEGA agent-native delivery platform and Databricks Genie, an AI coworker designed to let business users and technical professionals interact with enterprise data using natural language.
Industry Practices Shape The Offering
Wipro said the new practice is built on more than 300 agentic AI and data use cases delivered across industries including banking and financial services, healthcare, telecom, manufacturing and energy.
The company listed potential use cases including wealth management, portfolio performance optimization, manufacturing planning resilience, telecom sales and marketing transformation, energy asset visibility and finance planning and analysis modernization.
That industry framing is important because enterprise AI adoption is increasingly moving away from general-purpose pilots. Buyers are looking for governed systems that map to specific business processes, compliance needs and measurable outcomes.
Governance Becomes Part Of Deployment
Databricks said its platform helps companies unify data, analytics and AI with governance built in. Kori O’Brien, senior vice president of partnerships at Databricks, said the Wipro practice is intended to help enterprises build trusted data foundations and deploy production-ready AI at scale.
For CIOs and data leaders, that governance angle is likely to be central. Production AI systems need access controls, lineage, quality management, monitoring and accountability. Without those foundations, AI programs can remain stuck in departmental experiments.
Wipro said the joint practice will help clients optimize existing data investments while creating AI-led solutions tailored to industry needs.
